From February to the end of April, the industry experienced a near-total lull. Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh turned out to be a disaster. It was yet another superstar film, after The Raja Saab, that failed to draw audiences. Vishwak Sen’s Funky, a satirical comedy, went largely unnoticed, while Satya’s Jetlee, a clever comedy, was another flop.
Sharwanand’s second release, Biker, flopped as well. Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit managed an average outing, but critics felt the film wasn’t up to his usual standards. A smaller film, Raakaasaa, fared decently.
