However, the Pens still have plenty of work to do if they want to complete a miraculous comeback. They remain one loss away from elimination, and an NHL team hasn’t pulled off a reverse sweep since 2014.

The series will now shift back to Pittsburgh for Game 5. With the home crowd behind them, the Penguins will try to chip away at the Flyers’ lead and send the series back across the state for Game 6.

Penguins vs. Flyers live updates, highlights from Game 5

7 p.m.: It’s the top of the hour, and puck drop is moments away.

Through four games, the Battle of Pennsylvania has lived up to every expectation. Now, the teams return to PPG Paints Arena with much different stakes.

For the Flyers, a win would cement their place in the second round for the first time since the 2018-19 season. The Penguins, with a win, will live to see another day.

So, will the Penguins extend the season? It’s time to find out.

6:54 p.m.: If the Penguins are going to extend the season and get their first home win in the series, they need to find a solution for Dan Vladar.

Before Game 4, the Flyers goaltender, who put up career highs in almost every category in the regular season, let up just four goals in three games, including a shutout in Pittsburgh in Game 2.

6:52 p.m.: Noel Acciari spoke to Dan Potash before the game about the keys to success.

6:51 p.m.: Philadelphia has healthy scratched one of its expected playmakers.

Matvei Michkov will officially not be in the lineup.

6:49 p.m.: We’re getting closer to puck drop at PPG Paints Arena.

6:42 p.m.: Pittsburgh has taken the ice for warmups, and as Erik Karlsson said, “Let’s have fun.”

6:30 p.m.: The Penguins are back in front of their home crowd, looking to force a Game 6.

6:21 p.m.: Let’s set the scene for tonight.

6:11 p.m.: On Saturday night, the Penguins got in the win column for the first time in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The opening goalscorer was none other than Sidney Crosby, who scored his first playoff of the series.

With the win, Crosby became the fifth active player in the NHL to have 100+ career postseason wins.

6:05 p.m.: The Penguins are on-site ahead of tonight’s contest.

6 p.m.: It’s do-or-die for the Pittsburgh Penguins, who enter Game 5 at PPG Paints Arena trailing the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 in the series.

Pittsburgh got its first win of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs in Game 4 over Philadelphia by a score of 4-2, but still faces an uphill battle after losing the first three games of the series. But, after one win and the series shifting back to Western Pennsylvania, expect Dan Muse’s team to get a boost from the home crowd.

Follow along for live updates throughout the night as the Penguins try to keep their season alive.
