The Coloradoan is again proud to present our weekly Athlete of the Week series, partnering with Blue Federal Credit Union to honor the best Fort Collins-area girls high school athletes.
There are five nominees each week, and fans can vote every Monday through Thursday at coloradoan.com/sports.

This is the fifth week of the 2026-27 school sports year, with fall sports starting to hit midseason form.
You can find the nominees and the ballot below. Voting is open this week until noon on Sept. 24, with the winner announced after the poll closes.

Fans can nominate their favorite athletes (deadline: 11:59 p.m. every Sunday) and the Coloradoan sports staff will ultimately select the nominees each week.

The following Fort Collins-area girls athletes are nominated for their performances from Sept. 14-19:

Grace Bovaird, Rocky Mountain volleyball: The Lobos senior was instrumental in a monumental upset win over Fossil Ridge in the Moby Rise & Rally at CSU. Bovaird posted eight kills and six blocks while dominating play at the net in the Lobos’ 4-set win, Rocky’s first vs. Fossil since 2017.

Michelle Lora Pardo, PSD flag football: What a performance for the Stars junior. Record-tying, in fact. Lora Pardo tied the state record with five interceptions and returned two for touchdowns in a 45-6 win vs. Horizon. For the week, Lora Pardo had six INTs, 12 flag pulls and four pass deflections in four PSD games last week.

Jersey McCollum, Timnath volleyball: It was a milestone week for the Cubs senior, who hit 2,000 career assists vs. top-10 Eaton. McCollum then led Timnath to a four-set win over 5A Fort Collins in the Moby Rise & Rally, tallying 37 kills, 39 digs, 23 assists and seven aces across the two matches.

Kara McManaman, Poudre cross-country: It was a career day for McManaman at the Windsor Wizards Invitational. The Impalas sophomore posted a personal-record time of 18:59.10 to take runner-up, her best finish in high school varsity competition.

Briella Myers, Fossil Ridge softball: Myers was prolific at the plate despite Fossil playing just seven combined innings in two blowout wins over Fairview and city rival Fort Collins. The SaberCat senior went 5-for-6 and blasted three home runs with 8 RBIs, including two homers vs. the Lambkins.
