Raja Shivaji Social Media Reviews, Fans Are Impressed With Strong Narrative And Salman Khan’s Cameo

The historical period movie, Raja Shivaji, starring Ritiesh Deshmukh and his wife, Genelia Deshmukh has finally hit the silver screens and is generating a lot of buzz on social media. For those who do not know, the recently released movie is based on the life of Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The story of Raja Shivaji

The recently released film, Raja Shivaji tells the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his early life. Apart from just showing his strength, the film also highlights his courage, intelligence and belief in freedom. The movie, directed by Riteish Deshmukh also focuses on the life of ‘Shivaji’s’ mother, ‘Jijabai’ and his wife, played by Genelia Deshmukh.

It is worth mentioning that the runtime of Raja Shivaji is around 187 minutes. Talking about the cast of the movie, apart from Riteish and Genelia, Raja Shivaji also stars Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Fardeen Khan, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree and more. However, it is worth noting that despite such a strong cast, it was Salman Khan’s cameo, who stole the limelight.

Hours after the film, Raja Shivaji hit the silver screen, multiple users took to their X (formerly Twitter) handles to share their review on the same. While some users appreciated the narrative, others were impressed by the casting. One user commented, “In my opinion this is the career best presentation of #AbhishekBachchan by any director. Absolutely terrific! #RajaShivaji.” Another user penned, “Riteish, we got to see the virtuous, sattvic form of humanity when speaking softly and the valiant form when fighting with enemies only because of you, on such a grand screen. Deeply grateful, Riteish bhai.” A third user wrote:

Netizens hail Salman Khan’s cameo

Apart from this, some users also hailed Salman Khan’s cameo in the movie, Raja Shivaji. For those unaware, he portrayed the role of ‘Jeeva Mahala’. Appreciating him, one user shared, “Even Salman Khan has stepped in to support the film with his presence and his cameo truly adds energy and impact to the narrative. At one point, it felt like the film might struggle, but his performance has definitely elevated key moments.” Another user commented, “Was truly impressed with the presentation of #SalmanKhan, never ever imagined him in this avatar.” A third user wrote, “Superstar Salman Khan’s powerful cameo in Raja Shivaji.”

According to a report by ABP Live, the director and main lead of the film, Raja Shivaji, Riteish Deshmukh, charged around Rs. 15-18 crore. Reportedly, he was the highest paid actor of the film. His wife, Genelia Deshmukh, who played the role of ‘Saibai Bhosale’ took home a paycheque of Rs. 1-2 crore. Abhishek Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt reportedly charged around Rs. 8-10 crore. Lastly, Fardeen Khan took a paycheque of around Rs. 2-3 crore.

A few days ago, at the trailer launch of the movie, Raja Shivaji, the director, Riteish Deshmukh got teary-eyed and revealed that he had been trying to make the film for 10 years; however, he always faced issues, which made him pause his preparations. Further, he thanked Genelia Deshmukh for standing beside him and his dream. It is worth mentioning that at the trailer launch, Genelia, too, got emotional when the Housefull actor thanked her.
