Coming out of the season opener, there were concerns about both the offense and defense for the Los Angeles Rams. However, on Monday night against the New York Giants, they answered just about every question despite being shorthanded.
The offense was in much better rhythm, sustaining drives the way they did last season when they led the NFL in points and yards. Defensively, they shut down the Jaxson Dart-less Giants with a stellar performance against Jameis Winston by allowing just six points all night.

It was exactly the type of get-right game they needed, and they have Davante Adams largely to thank. He went off for eight catches, 195 yards and two touchdowns, putting the passing game on his back without Puka Nacua. He scored the first touchdown of the night and then found the end zone again in the third quarter to put the Rams up 21-3.
The Rams went ahead 28-6 in the fourth quarter on Terrance Ferguson‘s first touchdown of the season, cruising to a massive win to get back to 1-1.

You could pretty much pick any of Adams’ catches as the play of the game because they were all impactful, but his 64-yarder on third-and-10 in the second quarter really helped open things up for the Rams. It set up Kyren Williams‘ touchdown catch later in the drive, which put the Rams up two scores.
It may not have been his toughest catch, but it was an important one.
What’s next?
The Rams will hit the road for their first away game of the season in Week 3. They’ll hop on a plane and head to Denver for a matchup with the Broncos on Sunday Night Football, a marquee matchup and the Rams’ third straight game in prime time. They’ll try to keep the momentum going against a stout Broncos defense, with both teams entering this matchup at 1-1.
