Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana trailer finally gets a release date
The countdown to Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana trailer has begun, with makers all set to unveil it at San Diego Comic-Con on July 23, 2026 (PDT) before releasing it worldwide on July 24, 2026 (IST). It was on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, when fans noticed Ranbir Kapoor and Yash jetting out of Mumbai to head to San Diego to attend the pop culture event, for the grand international showcase for their film.
According to the San Diego Comic-Con schedule, the presentation will take place between 3:15 AM and 4:15 AM IST on July 24, 2026, when the trailer is expected to be unveiled for attendees in San Diego. Fans in India will, however, have to wait a while before the trailer is released. As per reports, PVR Pictures has announced that the trailer will be released on the morning of July 24, 2026. While some reports have alleged that the release time is 10 AM, others claim that the trailer will premiere across digital platforms and cinemas from 8 AM.

Ramayana makers allegedly have a special English-dubbed version to premiere at Comic-Con
According to reports, the Ramayana panel is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 03:15 PM (PDT) in the 4,800-seat Ballroom 20 at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Hosted by entertainment journalist Coy Jandreau, the session will feature Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra. During the presentation, the team is expected to discuss the vision behind the film, its large-scale production, character development and the adaptation of the ancient Indian epic for a global audience.
As per reports, the panel will also include the premiere of exclusive footage, followed by the debut of the film’s official trailer. Reports have also suggested that the makers will unveil the trailer in a special English-dubbed version during Comic-Con. According to the production team, this version will feature AI-assisted lip-sync technology, allowing the actors’ lip movements to match the dubbed dialogue for international audiences. The initiative is part of the film’s elaborate global release strategy.

Further talking about the film’s release, Ramayana will be released in two parts, with the first part hitting the theatres on Diwali 2026 and the second on Diwali 2027. The film has created immense chatter since the project was announced. Amid that, reports are also rife that the film may release on November 8, 2026 and that the official release date will be mentioned in the trailer. The official San Diego Comic-Con synopsis for the film reads:
“In an age of gods and kings, the fate of worlds hangs in the balance. Rama, a prince bound by duty, sacrifice and the greater good, must face Ravana, an immortal ruler driven by pride and vengeance, powerful enough to shatter the cosmos.”
Ramayana has an extensive cast with Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of ‘Shri Ram’, Sai Pallavi in the role of ‘Mata Sita’, Yash as ‘Ravan’, Sunny Deol as ‘Hanuman’, and Ravi Dubey as ‘Lakshman’. The cast also includes Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, Arun Govil, Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, while Anupam Kher lends his voice to Jatayu.
