Ravens Make History Nobody Wants After Jaguars Beatdown

The Baltimore Ravens have an unenviable situation at quarterback, and a historic anecdote only makes it worse.

After their 33-10 loss at the hands of Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore in Week 9’s edition of Thursday Night Football, the Ravens became just the first team ever in nearly seven decades to complete an awful streak in the NFL.

The Ravens are the first NFL team to start 3 different QBs in 3 straight games & lose all 3 by 20+ points since the Cowboys did so during their inaugural 1960 season in which they went 0-11-1 (Eddie LeBaron in Week 6, Don Meredith in Week 7, Don Heinrich in Week 8).

Ravens Are on a Brutal Streak Involving The QB Position

That streak started when the Baltimore lost to the Cincinnati Bengals at home to the tune of a 35-13 score in Week 7. Lamar Jackson was still out with an ankle injury at that time, and Tyler Huntley started for the Ravens. Jackson returned the following week versus the Buffalo Bills on the road, but lasted just a snap and had to leave the game early. He was replaced by Huntley, who suffered a toe injury in the same game, forcing Baltimore to go with third-stringer Joe Fagnano to finish the contest — a 36-10 loss to Josh Allen and company.

Then on Thursday, Fagnano started for the Ravens against the Jaguars, who showed no mercy at the free-falling Baltimore side.

The Ravens will be starting another quarterback in their next game after trading for Arizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett, hoping that the veteran signal-caller will help them get back to their winning ways.
