Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Part One is among the most anticipated releases of 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the ambitious mythological epic is planned as a two-part cinematic saga, with Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film also stars Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana.

The film’s theatrical release plan now appears to have undergone a change. According to a report by Pinkvilla, Ramayana: Part One will release in India on November 5, with paid previews scheduled for November 4. The film was earlier expected to arrive in India during the Diwali period, with November 8 being the date previously confirmed by producer Namit Malhotra. However, the makers are yet to officially announce the reported change in date.
According to the report, the film will also have paid previews in North America on November 4, before opening there on November 5. It is scheduled to release on November 5 across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Germany, the rest of Europe and Latin America. The UK, South Africa and Mauritius are currently slated for a November 6 release. China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong remain to be confirmed.

Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana has been designed as a large-scale live-action adaptation aimed at audiences worldwide. The film was shot for IMAX, while the production has brought together an international technical team. Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A. R. Rahman are composing the music.

The makers have described the project as a two-part retelling of the epic, with Part One arriving in 2026 and Part Two planned for 2027.
