A decision on a possible Formula One season finale at Italy’s Imola track rather than in the Middle East must be made by Tuesday, motorsport media reported on Saturday.
The season is meant to conclude with races in Qatar on November 29 and Abu Dhabi a week later. But conflict and tensions in the Middle East mean F1 is mulling having just one race in Imola instead, although it has publicly backed Qatar and Abu Dhabi.

Organizers in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna need to know imminently if they should step in as a replacement. After Tuesday, there would not be enough time to prepare.
Haas team boss Ayao Komatsu also confirmed Tuesday’s deadline, according to broadcaster ESPN.
Imola as a plan B would be held in December. It would mean a home race for new world champion Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes.
If time runs out for Imola and an escalation makes the grands prix in Qatar and Abu Dhabi impossible for security reasons, the season could even end on November 21 in Las Vegas.
But according to ESPN, Formula One has promised teams at least 22 races this season. A Las Vegas finale would be race number 21.
