Erika Hammond is one of the new cast members on the Real Housewives of New York City. She has recently found herself in the headlines after Erin Lichy described her luxurious private island estate as a “rental home.” The comment did not sit well with Erika, and now she is calling out her co-star during a new interview.

For those unaware, Erika Hammond belongs to a billionaire family. And despite this, Erin Lichy did not like her luxurious private island estate, calling it a “rental home.” Now, sitting for an interview with Virtual Reali-Tea co-hosts Danny Murphy and Evan Real, Erika reacted to it and said that you can already see everything in the footage, and she doesn’t need to defend what it is. She put her foot down and said that if someone doesn’t like her private island estate, they are “not welcome back anyway.”
On the latest episode of Real Housewives of New York City, which aired on October 6, 2026, the cast was seen flying out to Erika Hammond’s Moskito Island estate in the British Virgin Islands. During their time there, Erin Lichy and Daisy Toye were caught on camera speaking badly about their accommodations.
Toye claimed that she was “not impressed” by Erika’s mansion. According to her, Martha Stewart, who happens to be both her boss and friend, would think that the place was a “dump.” Lichy agreed with whatever Toye said. However, she later sent a text of apology to Erika after the episode came out. Erika revealed the same during her interview, stating:
“After seeing that scene, it was really tough. It was really hard, and I think [Lichy] apologized. She actually sent me a text recently and apologized, right after the show came out.”

Lichy explained her actions later at the VRT Awards, saying that it was actually a “gorgeous island.” But the reason she agreed with Toye was that she was pissed at Erika Hammond for putting her on a pull-out couch. Interestingly, she also described the estate as a “rental home,” but clarified that she didn’t “mean it in a negative way.”
It still did not stop Erika from taking offense at her words, especially considering the fact that Lichy had just apologized. This led her to believe that the apology was completely fake. She said, “That is a fake apology. I don’t like fake apologies.”
For those wondering, Moskito Island was originally bought by Richard Branson. It is now owned by nine families. This includes Erika Hammond and her husband, Ankur Jain, and his family. In the latest episode of RHONY, she explained that each family owns estates on the island. Erika added:
“We all pay for the island, so we all have a share. We all share a beach, we all share the tennis courts, we all pay for, like, ‘HOAs’ of the island.”
