Sam Fender has announced a huge stadium tour in spectacular Lord of the Rings fashion after teasing a big update at the weekend
The beacons are lit. Sam Fender will be back on tour in 2027 – and it will be his biggest yet; some might even say it’ll be “Proper Massive”.
The Geordie chanter and his band shared a hilarious skit on social media to make the impressive announcement. It comes after the huge hints he was to return to his beloved St James’ Park.
During Newcastle’s home fixture with Aston Villa, the artist’s branding was scatter around the stadium. And now, in a Lord of the Rings inspired video the Seventeen Going Under star has announced a huge UK and Ireland tour is incoming in 2027.
The clip was captioned: “The Beacons Are Lit!” It began with bandmates Dean Thompson, Joe Atkinson and Johnny Blue Hat inside the Toon Army’s homeground. Flames were then seen firing up into the sky from the stadium.

It wasn’t just Newcastle that had the fire effect, either. Other big venues, including the Etihad in Manchester, the Principality in Cardiff, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, Malahide Castle in Ireland and London’s Wembley joined in the announcement.
There was even time for Sam to be seen sitting at the bar of his beloved Low Lights Tavern pub.
The clip won huge praise from Sam’s excited followers. Band member Joe joked in the comments of the post: “rise, arise, Riders of Théoden! Spear shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered, A sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now, ride! Ride for ruin and the world’s ending!”
One user gushed: “Who is the genius that conceptualised and actualised this oscar-worthy video because i’m watching it on repeat and it’s got me all hyped up fr.”
Another added: “This is the single coolest announcement video ever created!,” and a third said: “Hahahahaa ya dafties!!! This is phenomenal. See you in The Shire..”
Fans have been told to head to the star’s website, which has been rebranded with an SF27 logo, and is now asking fans to register for updates about the tour.
The news comes shortly after Sam and Olivia Dean broke the record for the longest-running Number One song in history, held by Frankie Laine since 1953. In July, Rein Me In made history after topping the charts for 19 weeks.
It’s surpassed I Believe by Frankie Laine, released in 1953, when Sir Winston Churchill was still the Prime Minister. But Rein Me In, which was initially released in June last year, now holds the title, having spent 19 weeks at the top of the charts. Sam said at the time he was completely lost for words after being handed his record-breaking award by the Official Charts Company.
