Television actress, Sanchita Ugale’s untimely death has come as a shock not just to her fans but also to her loved ones. The 22-year-old actress was found dead at her Nalasopara residence, where she resided with her family. Sanchita had committed suicide by hanging herself with her saree on June 14, 2026. Ever since the news of her death surfaced, there have been reports of trouble in her personal life.

However, her grandfather, Gopinath, claimed otherwise. Speaking to the media after her passing, Sanchita’s grandfather shared that the actress had no animosity with anyone and had no possible reason to commit suicide.
In the same interaction, Sanchita’s grandfather shared that Sanchita was a talented actress who achieved everything on her own without any Godfather to support her. Revealing how her family has been going through an extremely difficult moment, he said:
“She was an extremely talented girl. She had progressed on her own merit and through her hard work. She did not have a godfather. What she was going through mentally at that time, what the real issue was… because she had no disputes with anyone. Nobody ever spoke ill of her. Nothing was lacking in her life. It is very painful. Why she did this, only God knows what was going on in her mind. It is completely beyond our understanding.”

Amid the chatter, her close friend, Megha Sharma, revealed that the late TV actress was undergoing treatment due to depression. In an interview with Money Control, Megha revealed that Sanchita had been suffering from depression since January 2026. Megha also revealed that, along with depression, Sanchita also had some other health issues. Megha revealed that she had met Sanchita ten days prior to her death, when she took the actress for an audition. In the same interaction, Megha also stated that Sanchita often revealed her urge to end her life.

Sanchita Ugale revealed being disconnected from her friends and family a year before her death
A year before her death, in an interview with The Times of India, Sanchita revealed that she initially struggled to get into the industry, and that people often asked about her social media presence during her auditions. The actress spoke about her personal life, noting that her long working hours kept her away from her family.
Sanchita revealed that she was 17 to 18 hours out for work, with very little time for her personal endeavours. She felt disconnected from her family and friends. But the actress revealed that she had no regrets, as she had chosen the field and was happy with the love and attention from her fans.

Post her death, reports stated that she was dating her Saajan Ghar co-star, Ujwal Sharma. However, Ujwal rubbished the reports and denied dating the actress. In an interview with Telly Chakkar, Ujwal also stated that Sanchita was dating someone, as he shared:
“There is no truth to the link-up rumours. We were not in a relationship. In fact, she was dating somebody else and was apparently living with that person. She was going through a difficult phase because of her ex-boyfriend, and she was seeking help as well.”
