When is a fiance no longer a fiance?
Just after Savannah Chrisley shared the double-whammy of her engagement and pregnancy news, we learned more.
Her older “mystery man” is a convicted fraudster. And that wasn’t the end of it.
We now know that Savannah secretly married her con artist husband before even announcing that they’re engaged.

Not just engaged but already married
Despite the image that she cultivates for herself, Savannah is only 29.
That’s not too young to marry and only a little on the young side for motherhood, but it does make her barely over half her new man’s age.
According to People, marriage records indicate that Savannah and 56-year-old Jason Galanis married in secret.
Documents indicate that they held their clandestine nuptials on July 14 at Cayman Islands Baptist Church.
That means that they tied the knot just shy of three-and-a-half months before she announced their engagement.
On Tuesday, October 27, Savannah used social media to tell the world that she and “J” were engaged.
She also shared that they were expecting their first child together.
Many now speculate that Savannah and Jason may have decided to marry this summer while planning a larger, public wedding.
Weddings are expensive.
But considering the extensive financial crimes for which Savannah’s parents and Jason himself received convictions, a destination elopement and a larger wedding doesn’t sound over-budget.

He sounds like a perfect fit with her family
The moment that the public learned that “J” was Jason Galanis, they also learned that Savannah’s older boyfriend-slash-fiance-slash-husband was a convicted fraudster.
In September of 2020, he received a prison sentence of over 14 years for his role in two financial schemes.
Jason defrauded a Native American tribe and some investors out of tens of millions of dollars.
(Unlike Todd and Julie, whose sentences were deservedly controversial — even though they are terrible people — Jason’s crimes had real, immediate victims.)
In addition to prison time, Jason was ordered to turn over about $80 million and to pay the same volume in retribution.
In March of 2025, Donald Trump commuted Jason’s prison sentence.
He didn’t offer an explanation for this unusual implementation of executive clemency. And he didn’t need to.
Jason had testified in furtherance of an absurd GOP effort against former President Joe Biden. Additionally, Trump has shown sympathy towards fellow criminals — be they sexual predators or fraudsters or failed dictators — because he seemingly sees so much of himself in them.
For that reason, this commutation made perfect sense for Trump. It has been widely speculated that Jason may have contributed financially to Trump or a Trump-related cause, which often (but not always) means getting a pardon.
Trump not only ended Jason’s prison sentence but also absolved him of all financial penalties — allowing him to keep his stolen goods.
It sounds like he will fit in perfectly with the Chrisley family.
