In a recent interview with Telly Chakkar, Scout’s mother explained that she initially viewed her son’s closeness with Love as a sibling-like connection. As a mother, she was happy to see someone looking after her son, who is an only child. Recalling how Love would care for Scout, including applying oil to his hair, Sasmita said she always saw their bond as a brother-sister relationship rather than a romantic one. She told the outlet:
“Jab usne entry ki aur Young mein usko chhote bhai jaisa rishta dikha, phir Love ne uski care karni shuru ki, uske baalon mein oil laga dena, woh mujhe bhi bahut accha lag raha tha. Maine socha, chalo, mere bete ko care karne wali ek bachchi mil gayi, meri beti jaisi. Usko wahan ek behen mil gayi.”

Tanmay’s mother noted that her son has always been comfortable around female gamers and content creators because of his background in gaming. She claimed his background may have contributed to him not realising that his closeness with Love could be perceived a certain way.
Sasmita said Scout’s gaming house is home to about 20 people, including girl gamers and content creators, so platonic interactions between men and women are a regular part of his world. She explained:
“Mujhe lagta hai ki bahar jo cheezein dikh rahi hain, unke baare mein usko andar pata nahi hai. Bahar narrative ban raha hai. Public aur makers close-up karke cheezein dikhate hain…Usko andar se pata nahi ki bahar cheezein kis level par ja rahi hain.”
Scout’s mom believes he entered the competition without fully understanding how closely his words, gestures, and interactions would be scrutinised by viewers. Without naming anyone in particular, she also mentioned Scout having a “best friend” and girlfriend outside the house, arguing that he won’t deliberately pursue a romantic connection with Love.
Sasmita believes the public discussion surrounding her son’s bond with Love has largely stemmed from different interpretations of their interactions. She called out the makers for “zooming in” on certain moments out of context to build upon the ongoing narratives outside the house.
Speaking about Scout’s relationship with Love, the gamer’s mother maintained that she saw their relationship as purely sibling-like. She explained:
“Makers ki galti hai; woh zoom karke alag tareeke se dikhate hain. Main bhi grass wala scene das baar dekh chuki hoon, lekin mujhe samajh nahi aata ki log uska bahar kya matlab nikaal rahe hain. Mujhe wahan Scout kuch galat karta hua nahi dikhta.”
She did admit that some of the moments could have been avoided. Referring to instances when Love asked Scout to massage her shoulders or feet, she explained that Love could have been more careful about how such gestures might appear on national television. She told the outlet:
“Love thoda samajh sakti thi, kyunki woh actor hai. Usko samajh tha ki ye national TV hai. Scout pehli baar reality show mein gaya hai, isliye woh shayad ye baat nahi samajh paaya.”

The controversy gained attention during the October 25, 2026, Weekend Ka Vaar episode, when Rohit Shetty addressed Scout and Love’s much-discussed bond. Kaashvi Hiranandani also confronted Scout about how his interactions with Love were being perceived outside the house.
Kaashvi told her partner, “Scout, aapka har word, har touch par zoom in kiya jaata hai.” She also expressed discomfort over his comparison between her and Love, saying that the way his closeness with Love was being portrayed had embarrassed her family. Scout’s mom has come out in support of Kaashvi, praising her for standing up to her best friend and helping him see the situation for what it was, despite the high stakes.
