Hyderabad: Traffic came to a standstill after the family members of a minor girl and his mother and grandmother killed by a 35-year-old person P Raj Kumar at Dhaivalguda staged a protest on the main road between Shahbad and Kandi road on Saturday demanding to kill the accused in an encounter.

A long queue of lorries was seen on the highway resulting in traffic chaos since morning. Irate families squatted on the main road and raised slogans demanding that the police kill the accused in the encounter and send a strong message.

If the police failed to kill Raj Kuamr in the encounter then they could hand him over to the villagers to teach a fitting lesson to him. “Its heinous crime on the part of the accused to kill six people brutally,” they said.

Speaking to media persons at Shahbad, Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi said that Raj Kumar was absconding for two weeks after a case was booked against him under provisions of POCSO and BNS on May 16.

Raj Kumar, however, managed to secure an anticipatory bail. On Friday night, Raj Kumar went to the girl’s house and stabbed her to death near a lake and later murdered her mother and grandmother.

After killing them, the accused went to his house and killed his wife Sarita and two children. He then called his parents and informed them about the murder. The parents alerted the police.

Joshi said seven teams have been formed to nab the accused who switched off his mobile phone. “We are not sure the motive behind killing Raj Kumar’s wife and two children,” he added.
