Mohammed Shami is gearing up for his return to international cricket, actively practicing in the nets as he prepares for a comeback. The Indian pace bowler, who underwent ankle surgery earlier this year, has been working diligently to regain his fitness. Despite facing uncertainty about his timeline for returning to the national team, Shami expressed his determination to play domestic cricket for Bengal as a stepping stone back into the international arena.
In a recent social media post, Shami shared his commitment to training hard, stating, “Ball in hand and obsession in my heart, ready to turn the game.” His last competitive appearance was during the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup final against Australia, where he performed exceptionally well despite playing through injury. Shami’s focus now is on participating in a few domestic matches before rejoining the Indian squad, as mandated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for players returning from injury.
