SIR: Registration Of 1.76 Lakh New Voters Pending

According to data available with the office of chief electoral officer on Monday, 4,04,614 Form-6 applications were received. Of these, 827 (0.20 per cent) were unprocessed, 8,815 were rejected and 2,74,829 were included in the electoral rolls.

The report showed 1,20,970 applications pending, while 55,945 were pending before July 31, 2026, taking the total pendency to 1,76,915.

Nellore had the highest number of pending Form-6 applications at 19,094, followed by YSR with 18,666, Prakasam with 15,064, Tirupati with 14,776 and Markapur with 11,301.

Under Form-7, used to raise objections to the proposed inclusion or deletion of names from the electoral rolls, 64,874 applications were received. Of these, 83 (0.13 per cent) were unprocessed, 176 were rejected and 56,199 were updated in the electoral rolls. A total of 11,542 applications were pending.

Under Form-8, which covers corrections, replacement of damaged or lost voter ID cards, shifting of residence and other modifications, 2,40,167 applications were received. Of these, 1,871 (0.78 per cent) were unprocessed, 9,689 were rejected and 1,69,532 updated in the electoral rolls.

The report showed 60,946 pending applications, including 27,600 pending before July 31, taking the total pendency to 88,546.

Of the 44.28 lakh notices delivered for hearings, hearings had been completed for 43.74 lakh notices, accounting for 98.78 per cent. Nearly 54,000 notices were pending for hearings.

ASR, Kurnool, Chittoor, Vizianagaram, Anakapalli and West Godavari districts had completed a higher proportion of hearings, while Eluru, Palnadu, Tirupati, Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts had completed less than six per cent of the targeted hearings, according to the report.

Meanwhile, of the 3.27 crore electors in the other category, nearly 3.25 crore had been cleared for final publication in the electoral rolls after verification. Processing of about 1.82 lakh electors remained pending, accounting for 0.56 per cent of the total.

ASR, Polavaram, Vizianagaram, Kakinada, Kurnool and West Godavari districts had lower pendency, while Nellore, Palnadu, Guntur, Krishna and Nandyal had higher pendency.

For photo quality checks by booth-level officers (BLOs), nearly 3.62 crore of the targeted 3.71 crore electors had been approved, leaving 8.6 lakh electors pending, forming 2.33 per cent.

For photo quality checks by electoral registration officers (EROs), 2.28 crore of the 2.43 crore electors cleared by BLOs had been approved, leaving 15.94 lakh pending, or 6.53 per cent.

The Election Commission has fixed October 9 as the date for final publication of the electoral rolls under the SIR in Andhra Pradesh. The ongoing exercises have to be completed within the stipulated period to facilitate final publication of the rolls.
