Oti Mabuse, who previously competed as a professional on Strictly Come Dancing but these days is known for appearing on Loose Women, has announced that she is pregnant again
Oti Mabuse is pregnant with her second child. The former Strictly Come Dancing professional, 35, already has an 18-month-old daughter, whose name she has chosen not to reveal publicly, with her husband Marius Iepure.
On Thursday morning, the dancer, who has carved out a career on ITV with appearances on Loose Women and I’m A Celebrity… since leaving the BBC Saturday night favourite in 2020, took to social media to announce the news that another little one is on the way.
She wrote on Instagram: “Plot twist. We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No. 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller.”
Several famous faces were quick to send their well-wishes to Oti in the comments section of her post, including some of her former Strictly co-stars, the first being her sister Motsi Mabuse, 45, who is currently a judge on the BBC series.
She said: “We love you, congratulations, the bigger the better,” and left a string of emojis on her sweet comment.
Meanwhile, Karen Haeur, who recently left Strictly herself after more than decade, wrote: “Congratulations guys,” whilst Gorka Marquez said: “AMAZING NEWS GUYS.”
Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who competed on Dancing on Ice when Oti served as a judge on the ITV programme, said: “Congratulations Angel”
Other celebrities to weigh in on the happy news included Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley, who said: “Fantastic news. CONGRATULATION how beautiful is this.”
Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, who has played Tyrone Dobbs for nearly 30 years, wrote: “Huge congratulations to you and your beautiful family.”
Shortly after the birth of her first child, Oti made it clear that she would like another baby at some point in the future. In 2024, Oti was asked about expanding her family and said: “I’d like as many as I can afford.”
Speaking to The Times, she added: “What I have been through shocked me, but it made me even stronger. For the first time in my life I have a purpose, which is for my family to have a good life. You can imagine if I’m ambitious in my work, how ambitious I am as a mum.
“This industry has its ups and downs but I love it and I’m doing it all for my baby and my husband. I’m the breadwinner and I am taking care of my family.”
Prior to that, Oti joined Giovanna Fletcher on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, where she revealed that she and her husband kept the birth a secret for nine weeks to enjoy some quiet family time.
She said: “”She was very premature, she came really, really early – unexpected premature which was a big, big shock. Going through that emotional trauma that you go through when you have a premature baby, and then being in hospital with the little one for six weeks and then finally coming out and having her home with friends and family over Christmas was really nice.”
