Skubal will hit the open market in the offseason, with his one-year, $32 million deal expiring upon the end of the season. Still just 29 years old, Skubal should command an eye-watering contract. It will be interesting to see if the two-time Cy Young winner will seek a long-term deal that provides him with financial security over the course of many years or a shorter-term pact that sees him rake up average annual value (AAV).
