Telangana CS Reviews BRICS Anti-Corruption Meet Arrangements

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Tuesday reviewed the arrangements being made for the 2nd BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group Meeting, which is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on August 4 and 5.

The review meeting, held at the Secretariat, focused on ensuring seamless coordination among various departments for the successful conduct of the prestigious international event. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the State government and representatives of the Central government.

The 2nd BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group Meeting will bring together around 40 international delegates from the 11 BRICS member countries. In addition, nearly 40 senior officials from the Government of India will also participate in the deliberations.

During the meeting, Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Sushil Kumar Patel, gave a detailed presentation on the event and outlined the support required from the State government. He requested assistance in areas such as security arrangements, sanitation, health and emergency medical services, transportation, protocol, accommodation, venue management and other logistical requirements to ensure the smooth conduct of the meeting.

Reviewing the preparations, the Chief Secretary asked all the departments concerned to work in close coordination and make comprehensive arrangements well in advance. He instructed officials to ensure foolproof security, efficient transport and traffic management, high standards of sanitation and cleanliness, adequate medical facilities, uninterrupted civic services and seamless coordination among all agencies involved.

He emphasized that Hyderabad has earned a global reputation for successfully hosting major international conferences and summits and said that every effort should be made to uphold this reputation during the BRICS meeting.

He directed the officials to closely coordinate with the Government of India and complete all preparations within the stipulated timelines. Assuring full support from the State government, Sanjay Jaju said Telangana would extend complete cooperation to the Central government in organizing the event and ensure that all necessary arrangements are made for the comfort, safety and convenience of the delegates.
