NALGONDA: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday expressed concerns over the negligence in execution of road works by contractors and officials within the Mothkur municipality in the Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district on Friday.
The minister had been inspecting the road works along with Alair MLA and government whip Beerla Ilaiah. Seeing the incomplete works, he expressed displeasure and warned that such negligence would not be tolerated and action taken against whosoever responsible.
Incidentally, the state of the road due to uncompleted works has been causing road accidents regularly, leading to the loss of several lives.
Venkat Reddy instructed the contractor to ensure that all pending works are completed within the stipulated time frame without any further delay. He directed officials and contractors to complete the long-pending Mothkur-Rajannagudem road within the next two months. He declared that strict action will be taken in case there is further delay in execution of the roads.
The minister assured the contractor that the state government would facilitate the release of pending bills immediately after completion of the project. He asserted that he would personally monitor the issue and ensure there are no delays in processing payments once the work is completed.
Further, Venkat Reddy instructed officials to prepare estimates for the proposed road widening from Mothkur Centre to Ammanabole at the earliest to ease traffic movement in the area.
Those present during the inspection included Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri collector Anurag Jayanthi and Roads and Buildings superintending engineer S. Rambabu.
