Telugu Actor, Varun Tej Shares First Health Update After His Knee Surgery, ‘Procedure Went Well…’

Varun Tej is currently going through a tough phase. For the unversed, recently the Telugu actor sustained a knee fracture while training for his upcoming film, Bhari. According to multiple reports, the sports drama, Bhari, starring Varun Tej in the lead role, is set to release during Sankranti 2027. The upcoming sports drama will be produced under the banner of his cousin, Niharika Konidela. Following the serious knee injury, Varun underwent surgery. A while ago, Varun shared the first health update post his surgery.

Varun Tej shares his current health status post-knee surgery

On April 18, 2026, Varun Tej took to his Instagram handle and shared his current health status after his knee surgery. He thanked everyone who reached out to him with concern and support. He mentioned that the surgical procedure went well. Currently, Varun is focused on recovery and getting back to his full strength. The Fidaa actor expressed his gratitude to his doctors for their care and guidance. Varun added that soon he will be back in action. He wrote:

“Thank you to everyone who reached out with concern and support. It truly means a lot. The procedure went well, and I’m focused on recovery and getting back to full strength. Grateful to my doctors for their care and guidance. I’ll be back in action soon … stronger than before. Love, Varun Tej.”

Varun Tej has been happily married to Lavanya Tripathi since 2023. The duo first crossed paths on the sets of their film, Mister, in  2016. During the filming of Mister, Varun and Lavanya became friends and eventually their close friendship blossomed into love. Later, in 2018, the couple worked together in the space thriller, Antariksham 9000 KMPH. Before getting married, Varun and Lavanya dated for seven years and kept their relationship private.

Varun and Lavanya exchanged the rings on June 9, 2023, at his father, Nagababu’s residence in Hyderabad. They kept their engagement ceremony low-key. At the time, reports surfaced claiming that Varun proposed to Lavanya on her birthday with an exquisite diamond ring. Five months after their intimate engagement ceremony, Varun and Lavanya tied the knot on November 1, 2023, in Tuscany, Italy. Two years later, on September 10, 2025, the couple was blessed with a baby boy. They lovingly call him Vaayuv Tej Konidela.

Earlier, on May 6, 2025, Varun and Lavanya took to their respective Instagram handles to announce that they were expecting their first child. The collaborative post was all things adorable. They shared a black and white snap in which they were seen holding hands while the Fidaa actor tucked his two fingers inside a pair of tiny shoes. Along with the wholesome picture, the couple penned:

Varun and Lavanya’s second wedding anniversary was a bit extra special as they were accompanied by their little munchkin. On June 9, 2025, Varun took to his Instagram handle to wish his wife, Lavanya, a happy anniversary. Along with a heartfelt note, the Fidaa fame shared an adorable family picture. Varun mentioned that Lavanya made everything better. He considered himself to be lucky as he found her. He wrote:

“Happy anniversary, love! You make everything better. Every moment, every day. I’m so lucky to have found you! Love you !!”
