The Houston Texans have gotten off to a tough start to the season, currently sitting at 0-2 heading into Sunday’s road game vs the Indianapolis Colts. That continued into that contest, with the Colts taking a 10-0 lead in this one toward the end of the first half.

Unfortunately, things went from bad to worse in this one for the Texans thanks to an injury to a key player of their defense.
“#Texans Pro Bowl middle linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair groin injury, return is questionable,” reported Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 on X, formerly Twitter.

It’s certainly not an encouraging update for one of the most important players on the Texans’ defense, which was thought to be the best unit in the NFL, or at least one of them, heading into this year by most pundits.
Instead, the Texans looked shaky on that side of the ball against both the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, dropping both games at home to open up the season at 0-2 heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Colts.

While the Texans were able to shake off a slow start last year and make the playoffs, it’s certainly not a trend that the team wants to get used to year after year, and if Al-Shaair is forced to miss time due to this injury, things could only continue to spiral for Houston.

In any case, following the Colts game, the Texans are next slated to hit the field next week at home against the Dallas Cowboys, with kickoff set for 1:00 pm ET.
