The Corrs, one of the ’90s biggest bands, have teased new music is on the way in a bombshell interview as they reconvene for the first time since 2023.

The Corrs have revealed they’ve rejoined forces and are back for their first studio album in nine years. The 90s Irish hitmakers, who have sold more than 40million records worldwide, have come back together for the first time since their tour three years ago.

Now, the band have confirmed new songs are on the way after being honoured with a special exhibition, mural and civic reception for their services to music.

The Corrs – made up of siblings Andrea, Sharon, Caroline and Jim Corr – attended a celebration in Dundalk, Ireland, before posing for a series of photographs.

While speaking to reporters, Caroline, 53, dropped a major bombshell which is sure to send fans over the moon. She said: “We’ve been doing a lot of different types of things the last few years, and we are recording another album, which I have to say is a real surprise to us, actually.

“Because you know, obviously, we’ve worked together for so many years, being family, and we always think ‘Oh my God, will we ever do another record?’

“Every time we go in, we start it, and before we go, we think, oh, this would be no problem. We’ll just get in there, we’ll do a couple of songs, and then inevitably it turns into something else.

“And we’ve just decided to keep going with this, and hopefully we’ll get it finished at some point. But it’s great, it’s been brilliant to actually go back in and write it again. I mean, we just can’t believe we’re still, still able to do that.”

The Corrs were a force to be reckoned with during the 1990s, releasing their first album, Forgiven, Not Forgotten, in 1995, which went on to sell more than 3million copies in the UK alone.

Since their career began more than 30 years ago, they’ve managed to sell a whopping 40million records around the world. Their second studio release, Talk On Corners, came two years later in 1997, before their third album, In Blue, was released in 2000.

The group’s lead vocalist, Andrea, previously spoke out about how hard it is to get everyone back together despite them being siblings.

During an interview on This Morning in 2019, she said: “We all want to play together again. I love being the singer in our band. But it is difficult getting us together with the children.”

Reacting to seeing an 18m by 8m mural of themselves for the first time, Andrea said its size was overwhelming but described the art as “fantastic”.

Caroline said the artist, Mister Copy, had done a great job, saying: “These things are really difficult to capture. It’s enormous actually. I’d only seen it online, I was anticipating something a lot smaller.

“It’s huge. It’s up to the public to say what they think but we really like it.”
