A conti roll from The Re Store.

The Re Store

Although the origin story of the continental roll is a murky one, know this: without The Re Store, Perth wouldn’t have its own Italian-Australian sandwich. Despite the rise of specialist conti roll purveyors, the Re Store conti remains a key local rite of passage.

While the Northbridge Re Store features a larger range of sandwich fillings, my pick is the West Leederville outpost: great cheeses, a wondrous liquor selection, plus dedicated parking.

Good to know: A smaller spuntino roll filled with provolone and prosciutto makes great on-the-go snacking
