Luka Doncic received his second technical foul of the season against the Miami Heat, but fans think it’s only right that the call has been overturned.
Luka Doncic and the referees famously don’t get along. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is known for getting into it with them. Just last season, Doncic served a one-game suspension in March after picking up his 16th technical foul of the year. He has reached that mark in four seasons.

Through the first eight games of this season, Luka has been relatively better behaved. He picked up one technical foul in the clash against the Golden State Warriors. He was whistled for a second during LA’s 138-117 win against the Miami Heat, but that has since been rescinded.

In the second quarter during the Heat clash, Doncic expressively disagreed with a call by the referee. This immediately resulted in a technical foul. He was seen protesting the decision during the game as well, letting the official know that they wouldn’t have called that on any other star.
On Tuesday night, it was revealed that the call was being overturned. Fans responded by showing their support for Luka and questioning the referee instead.
“This is the right call, but does the ref just get away with it now?” one fan asked. “Omg he really is gonna be MVP this year, even his techs are getting rescinded!” another observed. “Since when is clapping tech-worthy, these refs have built-in Luka hate,” a third fan said.

“Every year he gets a lot of techs rescinded, it is kinda telling how biased the officials are against him,” a fourth fan wrote. “I need the ref who did it to come to the front,” a comment read. “You should publish what corrective actions you take on these incompetent referees,” a sixth fan appealed to the NBA.
Doncic has his fair share of critics and doubters, but it seems that the general consensus this time is that he was wronged by the official. Having a technical rescinded is good news for the Lakers star, although hopefully he won’t think of it as having an extra one in the bank.
