Vijayawada:A tiger has been spotted moving in the vicinity of Pudipalle village in Devipatnam mandal of Polavaram district on Saturday. Forest authorities are keeping a close watch in a bid to capture it.

Expert teams from Bengaluru and other areas have arrived at the site armed with tranquilisers, drones, a cage, a wildlife ambulance, VHF antennas, and other equipment. They are waiting for the tiger to move to a place, where it will be convenient for them to tranquillise and cage the wild cat safely.

Forest officials have appealed to people in the area to remain on high alert for their own safety.

Nearly 200 personnel, including senior forest officers and experts from various agencies are working round-the-clock over the last few days to capture the tiger.

State government has issued a directive to capture the wild cat for the safety of people and cattle in the area, apart from the tiger itself.
