TN CM Vijay Discusses Industrial Growth, Investments With CII Representatives

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Friday met representatives of the CII at the Secretariat and discussed the state’s overall industrial growth, officials said. The meeting also focused on investment promotion and policy support, measures to facilitate start-ups, the vision for sustainable economic and industrial development, and long-term collaboration with the state government, they added.

The meeting assumes significance as Vijay has begun interacting with industry leaders and key stakeholders just days after taking office as the CM.
Among those present were Confederation of Indian Industry South Zone Chairman P Ravichandran, CII Tamil Nadu Chairman C Devarajan, Vice Chairman J Murugavel, and former South Zone Chairman M Ponnusamy, among others.
In a separate meeting, the CM met senior Yamaha Motor India officials, including Group Chairman Hajime Aota, Corporate Director Atsushi Nagashima, and Assistant Director Kumar, officials said.
Vijay appreciated the contribution of the company to Tamil Nadu’s automotive industry and its role in strengthening the state’s export potential.
He also assured the company of the state government’s full support for its expansion plans and requested it to continue investing in Tamil Nadu, officials added.
