Michael Sheen and Kate Beckinsale’s daughter, Lily Mo Sheen looked a mini-me of her famous mum as she had her own red carpet moment this week.
The actress offspring of the Celebrity Traitors star, 57, and Hollywood actress, 53, attended the premiere of Sense and Sensibility in New York on Wednesday and made sure all eyes were on her. Sporting an ethereal cream silk slip dress with quirky split-toe black pumps, the Everybody’s Fine star, 27, posed to perfection.
With her hair in an elegant up-do, Lily Mo, who is carving out an acting career for herself, opted for minimal make-up and subtle silver earrings as she rubbed shoulders with the stars of the Jane Austen film: Daisy Edgar-Jones, Caitriona Balfe and Esme Creed-Miles.
It comes after the actress, whose mum, Kate, boasts a string of Hollywood hits on her CV, insisted that she was determined to distance herself from the ubiquitous ‘nepo baby’ tag.
As well as having famous parents, Lily Mo’s grandparents, Judy Loe and Richard Beckinsale are also TV legends. However, earlier this year it was claimed that the actress doesn’t want to cash in on her family’s fame.
Insisting that she is “definitely leading an independent life”, a source told the Daily Mail: “She loves her parents but she’s definitely leading an independent life and has for a long time…
“She doesn’t want to rely on her parents – at the same time, it’s undeniable that it would give her a leg up, so she just wants to really work hard and earn her career. She even takes acting classes.”
Born in London, Lily Mo began acting as a child, appearing in films including Underworld: Evolution (2006), in which she played the younger version of her mum’s character, Selene.
She also appeared in Everybody’s Fine (2009), alongside Kate before gaining wider recognition for her role as Addy Cage in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022).
In April, Lily Mo revealed that she was two years sober after ditching alcohol. Sharing a snap of herself holding a tray of cupcakes, she posted on Instagram: “Two years sober”. A friend of the actress replied: “So proud of you, Lily.”
Lily’s mum, Kate, is also not a fan of alcohol, telling Shape magazine in 2016 she goes out of her way to avoid it. The actress, who sadly lost her beloved mum, Judy, last year, said: “I don’t drink alcohol. I feel [its effects] very quickly, so I’ve never actually had an entire glass of anything alcoholic.”
Kate has been going through a tough time recently after wiping Instagram account after hitting back at a barrage of cruel comments about her appearance. The British star shared a series of emotional posts on Saturday as she revealed some of the messages she has received about her weight following the death of her mum.
Taking to her Stories, the Underworld star shared screenshots of some of the comments directed at her, including one which read: “Loosen up the Ozempic !! You were divine and now you look anorexic!”
Responding, Kate wrote: “You take a break from Instagram for several months following the death of your mother, delete all of your posts and explain in some considerable detail about what you may have lost weight including the fact that weight loss is one of the very first physical signs of bereavement… I think people might be broken.”
