Trump aims to elevate federal judge Lee Rudofsky to Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit

President Donald Trump said that he is nominating federal judge Lee Rudofsky to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

“I am pleased to announce the nomination of Lee Rudofsky to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit!” Trump exclaimed in a Wednesday Truth Social post.

Rudofsky is currently serving on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, a position to which Trump nominated him back in 2019.

“Lee is currently a distinguished Federal District Court Judge in Arkansas. He previously was Solicitor General of Arkansas, and Assistant General Counsel of Walmart. He is a Graduate of Harvard Law School and Cornell University. Lee will be a rock solid defender of the Constitution on the Eighth Circuit. Congratulations Lee!” the president added in his post.

Arkansas Lt. Gov. Leslie Rutledge and state Attorney General Tim Griffin both congratulated Rudofsky.

“I am proud to congratulate Judge Lee Rudofsky on his nomination to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. When I appointed Judge Rudofsky to serve as Arkansas’s first Solicitor General, I had long recognized his legal acumen and knew he would serve Arkansas with distinction. On the federal district court, Judge Rudofsky has adhered to the original text of our constitution and applied the rule of law fairly and impartially. I am confident he will continue to apply the law faithfully,” Rutledge, who previously served as the state’s attorney general, declared in a post on X.

“Judge Rudofsky is a once-in-a-generation jurist, and I ask the United States Senate to swiftly confirm President Trump’s nomination,” she added.
