Kakinada: Nineteen girl students of a junior college in Tuni, Kakinada district, fell ill after having lunch on the college premises on Saturday. The students developed vomiting and diarrhoea soon after consuming the meal.
They were shifted to the Tuni Government Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
The students alleged that a lizard had fallen into the sambar served during lunch and claimed that they fell ill after consuming the food. Doctors said the condition of all 19 students was stable and that they were being kept under observation.
The incident has raised concerns over the quality and safety of food served to students at the college.
