The Giants’ running back room got its latest dose of upheaval entering the bye week — but, in a season of worst-case scenarios with injuries, it wasn’t the latest devastating blow.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. will be placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, general manager Joe Schoen said Monday, but it won’t be a season-ending injury.

In a corresponding move, the Giants signed undrafted free agent Gregory Desrosiers off the Chargers’ practice squad and to their active roster.

Tracy sustained the injury during the Giants’ overtime win over the Texans on Sunday, when he rushed six times for 15 yards and a touchdown.

“This isn’t, like some of the other ones that we had were season-ending,” Schoen said when asked if Tracy’s injury would impact his plans at the trade deadline.

“This won’t be something that’s gonna be long-term fortunately.”

Tracy, who struggled in the preseason — to the point where his name was on the roster bubble — and was part of a four-back committee before Najee Harris was released, had produced three touchdowns across the last two games, but now he’ll miss the Giants’ next four games after the bye.

The Giants have gone from a crowded running back room where no one separated as the featured back to having just Cam Skattebo, Devin Singletary and now Desrosiers, who hasn’t recorded a carry this season after getting signed out of Memphis, remaining.

Skattebo was punished in Week 6 after fumbling issues and didn’t receive a carry in the home loss to the Saints, but after becoming the starter again, he rushed for a career-best 124 yards and a touchdown against the Texans.

Singletary has only carried the ball 18 times this season, though the 29-year-old scored the game-winning touchdown Sunday and was an unsung hero — with four catches and a receiving touchdown — in the opener against the Cowboys, too.

“We still have lots of confidence in [Skattebo] and [Singletary],” Schoen said, “and we’re excited to see what Greg can do.”
