Vic Reeves has been rushed to hospital after the comedian ‘overexerted himself’ and collapsed at the wedding of a friend last weekend, according to reports
Comedian Vic Reeves has been rushed to the hospital. The comedian, 67, had been attending the wedding of a friend in Dorset last weekend when things took a turn for the worse.
According to reports, the star, whose real name is Jim Moir, had “overexerted himself” before the medical emergency took place. It’s claimed that, while at the wedding at the Hotel du Vin in Poole, despite Jim initially having a good time, the light-hearted mood soon turned serious.
A source said the incident prompted “serious concern” amongst those in attendance. A source said: “Vic was telling jokes and entertaining people – and obviously everyone was hitting the bar as the party went on just as you’d expect.”

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the source added: “But suddenly it appeared to take a bit of a turn for the worse – there was a commotion in the middle of the group and staff were being asked to call for an ambulance which turned out to be for Vic who wasn’t looking at all well. It all happened very quickly.”
The source went on to explain that despite there initially being “lots of laughs”, this later turned to “serious concern”, as Vic was taken away by paramedics.
Jim and his wife, Nancy, 52, were said to be visiting the town for the wedding, exploring the sights, and taking a boat ride around the harbour during their visit. The couple, who are avid birdwatchers, were seen on the water with a pair of binoculars around their necks.
The Mirror has approached Vic’s spokesperson.
