Former minister and Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao said a comprehensive inquiry was taken up into KGBV students’ hair-cutting incident in Bheemili.
Speaking to mediapersons, the MLA said that the police was speaking to the girl students at the Vidyalaya and gathering evidences. There is no chance for an outsider to barge into the campus and do it, he said, adding that there is a chance for more facts could be revealed if the CCTV footage from the hostel is examined.
Over 38 students are studying Class IX at the Bheemunipatnam KGBV. The students were accommodated in two rooms. On Sept. 16, after 12 in the midnight, the girls fell asleep. Surprisingly, a few students from both the rooms found their hair cut, in both the rooms. Six of the 20 students who slept in one room and four students of 18 others who slept in the other room found their hair cut. The girls informed the hostel staff who passed on the information to the higher officials.
Speaking on the water crisis in Bheemili, Ganta said that they had taken the issue to the notice of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The CM had issued orders to the officials and elected representatives to look into the issue at the helipad itself, he reminded.
Measures have been taken to supply bulk water at places wherever necessary.
On distribution of house site pattas, he said that over 60,000 pattas were issued in 2014-19. An additional 20,000 pattas were given now, he said.
