Visakhapatnam: A wedding celebration in Mirthivalasa village of Santakaviti mandal in Vizianagaram district turned tragic after a young man died of electrocution on the day of his younger brother’s marriage. The wedding was called off following the tragedy.
Satish, 32, a software engineer based in Hyderabad, had returned home to take part in the celebrations. Married just last year, he was eager to join the family on the special occasion.
According to locals, Satish was on the terrace hanging clothes to dry when he accidentally came into contact with live electrical wires installed as part of the wedding decorations. He collapsed instantly.
Family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The sudden death cast a pall of gloom over the household, turning a joyous occasion into one of deep mourning.
