Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon, once upon a time, were the most talked-about stars in Hindi cinema. Their relationship was highly public, and it had started back in the 1990s. After Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon appeared together in the 1994 movie, Mohra, their relationship did not last, and they parted ways. Now, after 22 years, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon will be seen together on the big screen with Welcome To The Jungle.

Welcome To The Jungle, director, Ahmed Khan, in an interview with MidDay, revealed knowing Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon for 30 years. Ahmed was aware of whatever had happened in the personal lives of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. He spoke about Raveena Tandon’s reaction when she was approached for the movie in which Akshay played the lead. The actress had zero issues working next to Akshay and had shared:

“So what? We are all actors and grown up. We are all friends and we will have a blast on the sets.”

Welcome To The Jungle director, Ahmed Khan further stated that in the movie, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon are not at all romantically paired in the movie. They do share many scenes and reportedly will also be seen in a song which has been choreographed by  Rahul Shetty and Prince Gupta. Ahmed went ahead and revealed that both Akshay and Raveena were seen discussing and joking about their children on the sets of the movie. The 52-year-old director of Welcome To The Jungle, Ahmed Khan, had also spoken about how he had approached both the stars for the movie. He stated that there was no sense of awkwardness between both Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon.

Welcome To The Jungle, director Ahmed Khan also revealed a behind-the-scenes moment from the shooting where Akshay and Raveena had filmed a song with Suniel Shetty. Director, Ahmed Khan stated that Raveena had no reservations related to the fact that Akshay Kumar was a part of the movie. He had revealed that there is a sequence of Akshay and Raveena dancing together. Director, Ahmed Khan further speaking on Akshay and Raveena’s dance, shared:

“There is a sequence of Akshay and Raveena dancing together. The whole set clapped. Suniel Shetty, who also starred in Mohra, came in and said, ‘Arre, mere Mohra ki jodi aa gayi’. It’s a small industry and everybody grows over their past and moves on. Off set, Raveena and Akshay were friends only — joking, having fun, and talking about their kids. We reminisced about the past and work from earlier movies.”

Raveena Tandon and Akshay Kumar’s relationship dates back to the 1990s. It was on the sets of Mohra that they fell in love back in 1994. Back in the late 1990s, both stars reportedly got engaged, which was confirmed to the public. It has been shared that both families were present at the engagement, and all the traditional rituals were performed at the ceremony. Well, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon’s relationship soon faced a lot of strain later. However, both decided to remain cordial; Akshaye is now happily married to Twinkle Khanna, and Raveena is happily married to Anil Thadani. Well, Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon’s reunion has drawn a lot of attention, as they were among the most famous on-screen pairs back in the 1990s.
