During the next few years, he faced multiple surgeries, chemotherapy sessions, and immunotherapy treatments. In fact, cancer had spread in Chad’s spine, lungs, and eventually his brain. Earlier in 2026, he again had to undergo an emergency surgery to remove three brain tumors after Chad felt weakness during his performances. Still, he continued to work on music and spent time with his family.
One of the most emotional moments for fans was when Chad made a surprise return to the stage in June 2026 in Nashville. He performed from a motorized scooter and played some of their band’s biggest hits. Later, the guitarist explained how watching his daughter see him perform was a dream come true for him.
Unfortunately, Chad passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 20, 2026. The news was confirmed by New Found Glory’s statement, where they revealed how he spent his final moments with his wife, Lisa, and his mother by his side.
