Others in the lineup include Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, acclaimed actor Michael Sheen, comedienne Miranda Hart and singer James Blunt. In the first episode, Sebastian acknowledged that he was perhaps “less well-known” than his fellow players, but reckoned that could be to his advantage.

Who is Sebastian Croft?

Sebastian Croft, also known as Bash Croft, is an actor, and, at 24 years old has already had quite the career, appearing in some of TV’s biggest hits. Born in Oxford, he was privately educated at the prestigious Dragon School, which also boasts comedian Jack Whitehall and Harry Potter star Emma Watson amongst its alumni.

He began taking acting lessons at seven years old and was just nine years old when he was cast in Oliver! in the West End. He followed this up by starring as tough barricade child Gavroche in Les Misérables before theatrical producer Cameron Mackintosh handpicked him to lead the UK tour of Oliver! in 2011.

Teenage stardom

After treading the boards, in his early teens Sebastian made the move into TV and appeared in Houdin and Doyle as well as Penny Dreadful. Aged just 14, he was cast as Eddard Stark, the younger version of Sean Bean’s character in Game of Thrones and then returned for the show’s sixth season where he played Robert Aramayo. Also in 2016, he starred alongside Carrie Fisher in Wonderwell and, although it became the Star Wars legend’s final film role before her death, it was not released until 2023.

In 2019, he was nominated for a BAFTA for his performance as Atti in Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans and then transitioned into more adult roles.

Further success

In 2021, he was cast in adult animation Love, Death and Robots and the same year, he voiced the role of Peter van Daan, the love interest of wartime diarist Anne Frank, in the 2021 animation Where Is Anne Frank?

Further success came with the role of Ben Hope in the Netflix series Heartstopper, appearing in the hit programme for a total of 13 episodes alongside Kit Connor, Joe Lock and Emmerdale star Bradley Riches. His most recent television appearance was as Silvio Salucci in historical drama Dope Girls.

Sebastian is also no stranger to music, having released the singles Tokyo and Better Than Ever. He has also appeared in the music video for Baby It’s Cold Outside alongside Michael Buble and Idina Menzel, and in 2026, teamed up with Maisie Peters for Questions.

Life off-screen

Sebastian currently lives in London, and has not confirmed his relationship status. But recently, the star opened up about a sad breakup and how he was using the pain of it all as the inspiration for his work. He said: “2 and a half years ago I had a break up, and at the time it seemed like the worst thing that could have happened.

“But what I didn’t know was it was the start of a really beautiful journey. I wrote loads and loads and loads of songs because it was really the only thing that i felt I could do.”

From acting to activism

Whilst he tends to keep his private life away from the spotlight, Sebastian has publicly identified as queer and teamed up with fellow actor Connor Jessup in 2023 to create the Queer Was Always Here initiate.

The official website reads: “Queer Was Always Here is a community dedicated to queer lives, queer art and queer history. We work in partnership with Choose Love to secure futures for LGBTQIA+ refugees and displaced people around the world.”

Celebrity Traitors

The first episode of the second series of Celebrity Traitors was watched by nine million people and just before the episode aired, Sebastian explained he decided to take the opportunity after previously trying to be a “serious actor” before realising that he could do both. He told NME: “I once tried to curate how I’d be perceived, and I wanted to be perceived as this, like, ‘serious actor,’

“But there’s something so liberating about just doing the things that genuinely interest and excite you – like The Celebrity Traitors – and then letting other people decide what that makes you..”
