Who Is Tatum Paxley's Husband? Inside Her Love Story With Javier Bernal Amid WWE Main Roster Debut

Tatum Paxley has officially arrived on WWE’s main roster, and her surprise debut on SmackDown has wrestling fans talking about more than just her new alliance with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. As Paxley begins this major new chapter in her WWE career, fans are also taking a renewed interest in her life outside the ring, including her relationship with fellow professional wrestler Javier Bernal.

Paxley made her main roster debut on the August 7 episode of WWE SmackDown, appearing during the main event between Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill. After B-Fab and Michin interfered on Cargill’s behalf, Alexa Bliss returned to confront them. After a light-out, Paxley launched herself at the two women and ultimately defeated Cargill.

The dramatic arrival marked a major milestone for the NXT champion. But who is the wrestler waiting for her outside the squared circle?

Tatum Paxley’s husband, Javier Bernal, is also a wrestler by profession, and WWE fans famously know him by his former NXT nickname, “Big Body Javi.” Both he and Paxley were pursuing their respective careers in the WWE circle when their paths crossed.

Paxley joined WWE after participating in the company’s developmental process and began competing under the Tatum Paxley name in NXT. Meanwhile, Bernal made a reputation for being brash and arrogant, even though his talent was undeniable.

Bernal made his name in NXT as an outspoken character who was never afraid to get under the skin of his opponents. However, his WWE career was interrupted by a serious foot injury in 2024, which required him to undergo surgery. Reports at the time noted that he had suffered a broken foot and was sidelined during his recovery. Though no longer associated with WWE, he has continued his wrestling journey outside the company.

Bernal and Paxley’s relationship blossomed while pursuing their respective careers, and in 2023, they got engaged. In September that year, Javi planned a beach proposal, and they announced the news on social media. Days later, on September 28, 2024, the couple officially tied the knot, and their wedding guest list featured several WWE NXT colleagues, most notably Wendy Choo, Nikkita Lyons, Karmen Petrovic, Lola Vice and Ava.

Sharing photos from their wedding, Javi wrote, “‘A Little Piece of Heaven’… Words could not express how blessed I am to call you my wife. I couldn’t picture a more perfect woman for myself, and I can’t wait to eternally dance with you, my love.”

Tatum Paxley’s journey from NXT to WWE SmackDown

Paxley began her WWE career in 2021 and made her in-ring debut on NXT Level Up in February 2022. She initially teamed with Ivy Nile before developing her own identity within the NXT women’s division.

Over the years, she became known for her unconventional character and unpredictable wrestling style, eventually capturing both the NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s North American Championship during her time with the developmental brand.

Her latest milestone came on August 7, 2026, when she made her long-awaited main roster debut on SmackDown. Charlotte Flair was attempting to defeat Jade Cargill, but Cargill’s allies B-Fab and Michin repeatedly interfered. When they disrupted Flair’s Figure Eight submission, Alexa Bliss made her return and confronted the two women.

That was when the lights went out briefly. And when the lights came back on, Paxley was standing on the top rope. She immediately dove onto B-Fab and Michin, neutralizing the interference and giving Flair the opening she needed.

Flair went on to defeat Cargill, while Paxley, Bliss and Flair celebrated together afterward. The closing scene immediately sparked speculation about whether WWE could be forming a new alliance around the three stars. For the 29-year-old, it was a striking introduction to WWE’s main roster, and it’s a matter of waiting to see whether she rises up to be among some of the biggest names in the women’s division. Her debut suggests that WWE has big plans for the former NXT champion.

Congratulations to Tatum Paxley!
