Shelley Duncan, who managed the Yankees’ Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre affiliate the past four seasons, is reportedly headed to their rivals, joining the Red Sox’s major league staff under manager Chad Tracy.
Duncan, 47, is the son of longtime pitching coach Dave Duncan.
He was the Yankees’ second-round pick in 2001 and played the first three seasons of his seven-year major league career with the organization.
He managed or coached in the Diamondbacks, Blue Jays and White Sox organizations before taking the helm at SWB prior to the 2023 season.
Duncan was named International Manager of the Year in 2025.
His brother, Chris, also played parts of five seasons in the majors, all with the Cardinals.
Duncan’s hiring by the Red Sox was first reported by MassLive.
