YouTuber, Jeff Nippard Speaks On ‘Grief’ After GF, Stephanie Buttermore’s Death ‘I Have No Desire..’

Fitness YouTuber, Jeff Nippard, has now opened up about his painful grief following the sudden death of his fiancée, Stephanie Buttermore, in March 2026. Nearly three months after the tragic incident, Jeff has mostly been away from social media. But recently, he broke his silence and shared an emotional update about his life now. At the same time, he shared how surviving every day has become increasingly difficult for him without her. 

Jeff Nippard opens up about ‘grief’ and ‘depression’ after Stephanie Buttermore’s sudden death

Popular fitness YouTuber and bodybuilding creator, Jeff Nippard’s life used to revolve around the gym and fitness. But he admitted in his new Instagram post about how even stepping back into the gym has become emotionally draining for him. Jeff offered honest insight into his current life, which quickly resonated with the couple’s fans and followers on social media. In fact, some of them even praised him for speaking openly about his mental health after the tragedy. Stephanie Buttermore passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36. Needless to say, her death left fans in disbelief. In his words:

“My depression has been bad. So my strength is down a lot, and for the first time I can remember, I have no real desire to workout. That said, I do find that if I just say to myself, ‘go in and lift the empty bar up and down 10 times, that’s better than nothing’… at least I get moving.”

The fitness creator revealed that he has been staying in one of his friend’s basements for the past few weeks. So, he has been using basic gym equipment, such as a barbell and dumbbells, to gradually build a routine. Jeff explained that a simple environment has helped him to reconnect with his training. At the same time, it reminded him of his early days in bodybuilding before fame. At the end, he thanked his followers in his second post in three months after Stephanie’s death for supporting him during his social media break.

Jeff Nippard announced his fiancée, Stephanie Buttermore’s, unexpected death through a brief Instagram statement on March 6, 2026. According to his message, she “suddenly” and “unexpectedly” passed away. However, he did not reveal any official cause of her death. Neither her family nor her representatives. Yet, before her death, Stephanie stepped away from social media in 2024 to focus on her mental health after experiencing anxiety due to intense public criticism. Despite her low-key public presence, her death left fans heartbroken.

Stephanie Butter was more than just any other internet personality. She held a PhD in Pathology and cell biology. At the same time, she had done research on ovarian cancer detection. Given her knowledge and fitness education, Stephanie used to create educational content on it. She used to encourage and explain health and wellness to followers. In turn, she had gradually earned more than 1 million YouTube subscribers. 

Stephanie began dating fellow fitness YouTuber, Jeff Nippard a few years ago. In turn, they become some of the most popular couples in the fitness creator world. They shared a mutual interest in evidence-based fitness, bodybuilding, and education. In fact, they collaborated on several videos, workout programs, and nutrition discussions. Eventually, Jeff popped the question to Stephanie during a trip to Banff, Canada in 2022. Since then, they have often shared glimpses of their life on social media. However, after her death, Jeff only shared two Instagram posts, both mentioning her.
