For the first time in their 57-year history, the Milwaukee Brewers are World Series champions.

After an MLB-leading 103 wins and a remarkable October run that saw the Brewers appear in their first World Series since 1982, Milwaukee opened with the second-best odds to win the 2027 title at +500 at DraftKings Sportsbook, trailing only the Dodgers (+310).

The Yankees (+700) have the best odds among American League teams, while the Mets are tied for seventh with their 22/1 standing.

The Dodgers are the opening favorite for the eighth consecutive year after winning three titles in the last seven years, and claiming the NL West for a fifth straight season and 13 of the last 14 years.

Having finished the campaign at 100-62, it marked the Dodgers’ sixth 100-plus win season in the past decade.

Milwaukee swept Los Angeles in the NLCS with the MLB‘s 19th-ranked payroll ($146.2 million), compared with the Dodgers’ second-ranked $339.3 million payroll, raising questions about the formula for success — especially ahead of the expected lockout when the current collective bargaining agreement (CBA) expires Dec. 2.

Both the Dodgers and Brewers are expected to bring back the core of their championship-caliber lineups in 2027.

Backed by a top-three bullpen, Jacob Misiorowski put together a masterful campaign that should should earn him his first Cy Young, leading the league in ERA, strikeouts and WHIP while averaging a record 100.5 mph on his fastball.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers’ star-studded rotation battled injuries all year, with Shohei Ohtani’s health issues carrying into the postseason.

Dodgers two-time Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal will become an unrestricted free agent, but the rest of the rotation is guaranteed to return.

The Brewers’ only significant unrestricted free agent is first baseman Jake Bauers, who served as an elite middle-of-the-order threat.

Tampa Bay rode a band of role players to the World Series, embracing small ball through bunting, plate discipline and stolen bases. But oddsmakers aren’t counting on another run: the Rays open at 22/1, the seventh-shortest odds on the board.

The Yankees sit third on the oddsboard at +700 after reaching the postseason for the ninth time in 10 years.

Aaron Boone is set to return for his 10th season as the Pinstripes’ skipper following the club’s ALDS sweep by Tampa Bay. He guided the Yankees to 93 wins despite a slew of major injuries, most notably Aaron Judge, who missed 96 games and didn’t appear in the postseason.
