Hyderabad:Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) teams on Thursday conducted searches at 10 locations linked to suspected benamis of suspended DSP Sankireddy Bheem Reddy and seized Rs 1.35 crore in unaccounted cash, foreign currency and other material.
The searches were conducted simultaneously in Hyderabad and Zaheerabad by 10 teams headed by G. Sridhar, DSB-ACB, City Range-2, an ACB officer said. The teams searched a farmhouse and houses of persons suspected to have had financial and other transactions with the suspended officer.
During the searches, the ACB seized several documents and other material as evidence relating to suspected benami assets. Officials found Rs 1.35 crore in cash at the residence of Bomma Venkatesh in Jubilee Hills.
The ACB also seized foreign currency and approximately 14 litres of foreign liquor. The excise department was informed about the seizure of foreign liquor for necessary action. The authorities registered a case in accordance with law.
Bheem Reddy, who served as DSP in Police Computer Services at the Telangana DGP’s office, was arrested on June 2 this year in a disproportionate assets case. The latest searches were conducted in continuation of the earlier searches and as per warrants issued by the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, the ACB said in a press release.
The ACB City Range-2 registered Crime No. 21/RCA-CR-2/2026 under Section 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018. The case is under investigation. Bomma Venkatesh was produced before the court, the ACB said.
