The NFL has fined San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle “Juice” Juszczyk for his signature celebration.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the Niners fan favorite is being fined $14,926 for his touchdown celebration against the Dolphins this past Sunday where he mimed, according to the NFL’s perspective, “chugging a beer.” Fines are typically announced officially on Fridays.

However, the problem is that Juszczyk’s celebration is not meant to mime a beer chug but rather sipping on some, well, juice. This might be obvious to anyone who knows the fullback’s nickname, but the league was not convinced.
“Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,” the league wrote in its letter, per Schefter.
Never mind the fact that the NFL very famously had a line of sponsored Bud Light cans where the logo and colors of each team, and even that of the league itself, were prominently displayed, Juszczyk told Schefter that he doesn’t even drink beer.

This may be the first time in the 35-year-old’s career that he’s been fined for this celebration that he breaks out after scoring touchdowns, as well as after converting first downs, but it’s not the first time he’s been fined this season.
In the Niners’ Week 1 win against the Rams in Melbourne, the league fined him $20,033 for unnecessary roughness. Early in the third quarter, he led with his helmet on a block against Myles Garrett for a Christian McCaffrey run of 14 yards.

He reportedly has already appealed the fine, presumably so he can continue to chug his juice on the field without repercussions.
