VIJAYAWADA: Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) chairperson and managing director D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy has directed engineering officials to complete the Seed Access Road within the stipulated deadline, describing it as a key transport corridor for the capital city.
During an inspection of the Phase-III works on Thursday, she reviewed the stretch from the Manthena Satyanarayana Raju Ashram to Undavalli via the Chief Minister’s residence and instructed officials to ensure there were no delays in the execution of the project.
Officials said the project had remained stalled at various stages because of land acquisition and other land-related issues. Following the resolution of these issues, construction has resumed and is progressing rapidly, with NCC deploying heavy machinery at the site.
Lakshmi Parthasarathy inspected the Wet Mix Macadam (WMM), Granular Sub-Base (GSB) and road embankment works. She also reviewed construction of the connecting road linking the Chief Minister’s residence with the Seed Access Road.
The ADC chief inspected the bridge under construction across the Kondaveeti Vagu at Undavalli and directed ADC chief engineer T. Moses Kumar to complete the approach road without delay.
She also reviewed the Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) surfacing works on the steel bridge across the Buckingham Canal at Undavalli.
During the visit, Lakshmi Parthasarathy inspected the cycling and walking tracks being developed in the buffer zone along the Seed Access Road near Rayapudi village and instructed officials to expedite the remaining works.
Superintending engineer T. Vaikuntha Rao, deputy executive engineer Y. Appaji and representatives of NCC construction company accompanied the ADC chairperson during the inspection.
