Alka Yagnik Reacts To Health Concerns After Padma Bhushan Ceremony, ‘Finding My Way Back….’

Alka Yagnik is trending everywhere after she received a Padma Bhushan for her contribution to the Indian music industry for many years. The well-known singer was honoured with the title by President Droupadi Murmu at the Padma Awards, organised in Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 23, 2026.

While Alka received the honour recently, her health issues have once again come into the spotlight, with netizens pointing out her appearance at the awards ceremony, where she was looking weak. Alka also had to take help from a volunteer while she went to accept her Padma Bhushan. The latest update arrives around two years after the 60-year-old opened up about her hearing disorder in 2024. Meanwhile, as netizens were concerned about her, Alka shared an update about her condition.

Alka Yagnik seemingly claimed that she was recovering

On June 24, 2026, Alka Yagnik shared an Instagram post with a lengthy caption. Although she did not address her health issues directly in the post, she added a photo of the moment when she received the Padma Bhushan from President Droupadi Murmu. Alka said that she has maintained a distance from the limelight over the last two years, adding that although she has been dealing with difficult health, the love and support of everyone have helped her so far. She continued:

“This moment feels especially meaningful because it marks not just a recognition of my work, but a reminder of the strength that comes from love, hope, and resilience. I am slowly finding my way back, and I wanted to be here today – not only for myself, but for each and every one of you who have been a part of this journey.”

Addressing her latest achievement, Alka Yagnik wrote that it belongs to all those who accepted her voice and carried her songs through generations. Apart from thanking the President, Alka expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Government of India. She ended by writing:

“Thank you for your warmth, your kindness, your prayers, and your faith in me over the years. I carry all of it with me. Today, I didn’t just accept an award – I felt the love of millions who have been a part of my journey.”

Alka Yagnik’s shows were cancelled after her hearing loss in 2024

Alka Yagnik’s health problems first created headlines in June 2024 when she confirmed that she had a hearing loss, resulting from a viral attack. Alka shared the news on social media at that time. Furthermore, her PR team revealed that her stage shows won’t happen anymore as scheduled. Apart from that, Alka’s manager, Niraj Mishra, shared an update, saying that the multiple treatment options were being considered, including the ones that can be done outside India.

Alka Yagnik recalled what happened with her, saying that her hearing problem started in the right ear when she visited Goa in May 2024. She could not hear anymore in 24 hours, and the problem slowly started impacting her left ear at the same time. Insiders claimed that Alka was immediately taken to the hospital, where it was revealed that she had sensorineural nerve hearing loss.

According to the doctors, the hearing loss that Alka was suffering from did not have a cure. Furthermore, Alka advised people to be a little careful while using headphones and listening to loud music.
