Aly Taylor Thought She Was Pregnant Mistaking Symptoms Of Breast Cancer At 24, How Did She Find Out?

Social media influencer, Aly Taylor, passed away at the age of 38. Aly became famous on social media for documenting her life, where she shared her battle with cancer. For the unversed, Aly was suffering from stage three breast cancer, with which she was diagnosed back in 2011, when she was only 24 years old.

In an old interview, Aly Taylor revealed how she found out about her cancer diagnosis. It happened during a time when she was trying to get pregnant. With her passing, social media has been drowned in sorrow. It was back in 2019 when Aly Taylor sat for an interview and revealed her cancer diagnosis. 

Aly Taylor revealed how she mistook her breast cancer syndromes to be pregnancy syndrome

Aly Taylor sat down for an interview with Parade, in which she bared her heart. She revealed that she was only 19 when she got married, and after five years of marriage, she was pursuing a PhD and thought it was the perfect time to start a family. Well, she was trying to conceive, as she always wanted to be a young mom.

She further mentioned that she was finding every sort of symptom on Google, and later found out that one of the symptoms was sore breasts. In the following days, she was kind of convincing herself that she was pregnant, and eventually felt a knot in her breasts. Aly Taylor got it checked by her husband, and they also went to the doctors for a check-up. They were told that it was nothing, and eventually it was one of Aly’s friends, whose mom had the same kind of knots, and later was diagnosed with breast cancer.

So, as per her friend’s wish, Aly Taylor got it checked. She eventually had a biopsy done, and the doctor initially told her that it was not cancer. Two days later, they got a call from the hospital, learning that she had developed breast cancer. Speaking more about the same, Aly Taylor said:

“I was the young girl that everybody kept looking at like, “Oh, this is that girl that has the crazy aggressive breast cancer.” And from the outside, I felt great. There were no symptoms, there was nothing. And that was kind of really hard for me to wrap my head around like, “How can I be so sick when I feel so great?” When we got there, one of the first questions they asked was “Do you guys want to have a family one day?” And we said, “Yes. This is actually how we found out that I had cancer, trying to get pregnant.”

Aly Taylor’s journey to be cancer free and motherhood

Aly wanted to be a mom young, thus, she needed to have fertility preservation before going into chemotherapy. However, her cancer was aggressive, and she didn’t have time, as waiting to preserve her eggs would make her cancer grow significantly. After a whole bunch of surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, Aly Taylor became cancer-free. Well, her dream to be a mom remained unfulfilled. She and her husband Josh left all kinds of hope as they were told that the eggs she had were ruined, so even if she would conceive, it would be a miscarriage.

However, she and Josh decided to adopt and became parents to their ‘miracle’ daughter through adoption. Following this, a miracle happened and Taylor got pregnant, something she was scared and excited about. Eventually, her adopted kid’s mother also became pregnant again and contacted Aly and Josh if they would want to adopt again. The answer was ‘yes’, and this is how Aly’s dream to be a mom was fulfilled.
