HYDERABAD: Health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Tuesday said vacant posts of anganwadi teachers, supervisors and helpers would be filled shortly. He was speaking at a programme in Sangareddy where mobile phones were distributed to anganwadi teachers.
The minister said the government was committed to holistic development with a focus on women’s empowerment, education, healthcare and welfare. Participating as chief guest at the event organised by the district women, child, disabled and senior citizens Welfare Department under the 99-day Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika initiative, he outlined measures to strengthen the anganwadi system.
He announced that dedicated buildings would be constructed for all centres and warned staff against negligence, stressing that duties must be discharged responsibly. At the event held in Jogipet-Andole municipality, the minister distributed free scooters to 10 persons with disabilities and smartphones to 286 Anganwadi teachers.
