The Patriots’ backfield was a main topic of discussion during draft season. We entered 2026 with the impression it would be Rhamondre Stevenson leading the way while TreVeyon Henderson may take a back seat due to multiple red flags (pass protection, injury).
In Week 1, we saw Stevenson take a massive workload, but was held in check by a stout Seahawks frontline. Henderson was ruled out, which aided in that performance. In Week 2, the script flipped with the second-year back leading the way after an early lost fumble banished Stevenson to the sideline. Henderson would go on to finish with 76 yards and a touchdown vs. the Steelers on Sunday. New England’s RB committee appears to be one that will be tough to figure out week-to-week.
