Firefighting Equipment at Aditya Enclave in Ameerpet Not in Working Condition

Hyderabad: Fire service personnel during an inspection on Thursday found that firefighting equipment provided in the Aditya Enclave building at Ameerpet was not in working condition. Officials said action would be initiated against the management as per the prescribed procedures.

Fire officials during the day conducted an inspection at various establishments, educational institutions and commercial buildings in Ameerpet on Thursday to assess safety preparedness and ensure security of students, staff and visitors, including at Annapurna Block-2 and Neelagiri Block of Aditya Enclave, Ameerpet, and a college.

Officials inspected fire safety arrangements, availability and working condition of firefighting equipment, emergency exits, evacuation routes, and other safety measures, according to DG, fire services, Vikram Singh Mann. He emphasised the importance of creating public awareness regarding fire prevention and safety measures.

Management representatives were advised to strictly comply with fire safety regulations and take necessary corrective measures wherever required to further improve the safety standards of the premises.

Mann said the fire services department was undertaking regular inspections and awareness programmes to ensure that educational institutions and public establishments were adequately prepared to prevent and respond to fire emergencies.

Fire breaks out at Cherlapally, no casualties reported

A fire broke out at a metal forging factory in Cherlapally industrial area, Phase-II on Thursday. According to fire officials, the fire started near a treatment boiler inside the factory during working hours. Employees alerted emergency services as thick smoke billowed from the unit. Fire tenders that rushed to the spot brought the fire under control.

No injuries or casualties were reported and workers were safely evacuated from the premises. The exact cause is yet to be determined and officials are investigating the damage caused to machinery and infrastructure.
